First Perscription Drugs, Now Textbooks
Abebooks has taken a fresh approach to luring students to its site for textbooks: buy international editions. As the company states:
“An international edition is a textbook that has been published outside of the US and can be drastically cheaper than the same book found in your campus bookstore. The differences between an international edition and a US edition are usually minimal: they can have a soft cover rather than a hard cover, or black-and-white content, rather than color. An international edition can be a great way to obtain a new textbook at a fraction of the price charged by your campus bookstore.”
I really like this play - it’s innovative in some regard and has helped bring attention to the site that may not have come otherwise.
